Memorial Service - Warren Taft DeLaVergne

Warren Taft DeLaVergne, age 97, of Drain, Oregon, passed away peacefully March 6th, 2026. He was the son of Wellington and Ella (Taft) DelaVergne. Born October 31, 1928, in Huntington Beach, California, later moving to Creswell, Oregon before entering the Army and finishing his law degree at the University of Oregon. Warren was a Veteran, Lawyer, Justice of the Peace, and a successful commercial fisherman. He loved music and was an accomplished accordion player.

Warren was a devoted husband, caring father, and cherished friend to many. His kindness, wisdom, and unwavering support touched the lives of all who knew him. His career was law, but his love was fishing with his wife Margaret, tending his fruit trees in Arizona, and sitting in the Arizona sun. Warren was a proud University of Oregon graduate and encouraged his children to strive for success whether it was college, sports, or hobbies. We traveled with our parents creating lasting memories for our family. We will always remember dad and his love for us.

Warren was a member of the Oregon Bar Association, American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Masonic Lodge, and the Sunnydale Grange.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Margaret, his two daughters, Muriel DeLaVergne-Brown (Bob) and Karen Ping (Barry), along with grandchildren, Sandra Beers, Michael DeLaVergne, and Steven Kasinger along with two great grandsons, Junior and Drake. Warren was preceded in death by his son, Warren Taft DeLaVergne, Jr., along with his parents and sisters Eleanor Tichenor and Virgina Fox.

Warren had many friends throughout his 97 years and will be remembered fondly. As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate his remarkable life and the legacy he leaves behind. He will forever remain in our hearts, and his spirit will guide us as we move forward.

The service will take place at the Church of Christ in Drain Oregon on March 21, 2026, at 1:00 pm. Arrangements are in the care of Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel.

Shepherdess Conference

Shepherdess Conference

Gathering Christ’s community of female kingdom workers to...

-Refocus on the Savior we serve
-Revisit Biblical principles of ministry
-Adjust our eyes on eternity
-Network with fellow Christian women

Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus to others in this world. Thank you for giving your time and your energy to His work. We would like to invite you to the Shepherdess Conference that is coming up in October! This weekend is designed for ladies who have a heart for ministry. We've had many women question whether they are "in ministry". If you are following Jesus and are finding ways to use your gifts to serve other people in His name, YOU are indeed in ministry. We hope you'll consider coming and finding encouragement from like-minded ladies!

We are committing to praying through September and October, that God brings exactly who He wants to be there and that He speaks the message that He wants spoken through the speakers. We are studying in Colossians this year, focusing on the times that 'walk' is mentioned. It shows up in every chapter! Our faith is an active one! One that requires our Lord's help and guidance to be effective. What a blessing to be in His Kingdom.

Hope to see you there!
In His service,

Amelia, Elizabeth and Kara
